about

This song is based on the "Rücksitzwalzer" (Back Seat Waltz), composed by J. Nink on the occasion of a Kurt Tucholsky revue. It is centered, in music-historical reference to Schumann's A-B-E-G-G variations, around the (also German) tone sequence H-C-(E)S. Further parallels to Schumann's musical playfulness are of course baselessly speculative!

Recorded 2014, Cologne, Maarwegstudio
